This chapter has six goals: review the natural history, diagnosis, and treatment of skin cancers, including malignant melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and basal cell carcinoma; show how to diagnose and treat common skin conditions, including acne vulgaris, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and allergic contact dermatitis; discern the autoimmune bullous diseases; recognize serious skin conditions such as erythema multiforme and Stevens-Johnson syndrome; review the dermatologic manifestations of drug reactions; and identify cutaneous signs of malignancy and common medical conditions.
