Chapter 5 introduces imaging with an explanation of the gamma camera, including its components and their properties, and methods for static, dynamic, and gated planar imaging. Tomographic imaging in the form of single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) is described along with an introduction to hybrid imaging with SPECT/CT. Finally, the nonimaging scintillation devices gamma probes and well counters are discussed.
