Axial fat-suppressed FSE T2-weighted images (Figure 4.6.1) demonstrate low signal intensity throughout the liver and pancreas. The spleen is absent (as a result of splenectomy). In-phase (Figure 4.6.2A) and out-of-phase (Figure 4.6.2B) 2D SPGR images reveal markedly low signal intensity in the liver, which changes little from in-phase to out-of-phase images. Signal intensity is lower within the pancreas on the in-phase image than on the out-of-phase image....
