Chapter 7 discusses if we are able to prevent postoperative cervical spinal cord injuries in patient with known risk factors or when the surgery (such as cervical spine surgery) adds risk to the patient, and if when the surgery does not involve the cervical spine, can we identify the patient at risk for postoperative cervical spine injury and perhaps implement measures to prevent the occurrence of such injuries?
