Case 8 introduces a male infant born at 34 weeks of gestation with Goldenhar syndrome (oculoauriculovertebral dysplasia), and who presented at 6 months of age for elective tracheostomy because of upper airway obstruction and developmental anomalies of the lower respiratory tract. His history is significant for concurrent congenital heart defects requiring surgical repair.
