A 20-year-old student, while playing intramural football, suffered a severe twisting injury to his right knee. He was running hard, and while his foot was planted in the turf, another player ran into him, causing his trunk to twist. He lost his balance, felt a “pop” in his knee, and fell to the ground. In excruciating pain, he was taken to the health center on a stretcher.
