Case 19 introduces a 59-year-old male factory worker presenting with chest pain and shortness of breath. The patient states that he was well until approximately 2 hours earlier, when he experienced the abrupt onset of sharp, stabbing pain on the right side of his chest. He rates the pain as 8 out of 10 in severity; it is nonradiating and is constant. The pain is worse when he takes a deep breath or when he coughs.
