Mediastinal granulomas originate from histoplasmosis

One theory: granulomas break down and are the source of mediastinal fibrosis

Attempting to resect granulomas may disrupt them, and their contents then “spill” into mediastinum

Without resection, there is a chance they will not spontaneously disrupt and cause mediastinal fibrosis...
