Case 9d: A 58-year-old woman from rural Uzbekistan was diagnosed with hydatid cysts while in her home country. While there, she had also been given a trial of albendazole, but discontinued the medication due to severe nausea, swelling, and pruritus. She had undergone one previous liver resection in her home country, and subsequently had an injection/resection procedure in New York.
