People who have not conceived following 1yr of regular unprotected intercourse should be offered investigations.

Earlier investigation may be offered when predisposing factors causing infertility become obvious from history-taking, e.g. oligo- or amenorrhoea, PID, pelvic surgery, endometriosis, ectopic pregnancy, undescended testis, etc., or when female age is ≥35yrs....
