A 12-year-old girl is admitted by the paediatricians. She was previously healthy but recently she was noticed to be running less and tending to walk more slowly or limp at times. She began to complain of neck pain and has started to use her hands more slowly and deliberately. Her GP was concerned about Guillain-Barré syndrome and sent her to the local emergency department.
