A 32-year-old woman with a history of Crohn’s disease asked for advice about a planned pregnancy. The history of Crohn’s is complex and includes:

an ileal resection for small bowel Crohn’s disease at 23 years of age

three flares in the past 2 years that had resolved with budesonide and azathioprine

two perianal fistulae that had required seton insertion a year ago.
