Chapter 27 examines the pertinent issues associated with the delivery of oral supportive care to elder adults impacted by cancer, utilizing the patient-centred philosophies and healthcare-delivery models of two recognized dental/medical disciplines (i.e. Geriatric Dentistry, Geriatric Oncology). It should be noted that a minimal amount of research has been conducted focusing on the interrelationship between provision of oral supportive care and geriatric-specific cancer-care management.
