Chapter 15 discusses mucositis, one of the most common, debilitating, and disruptive toxicities of chemotherapy and radiation therapy (radiotherapy) used for the treatment of malignant disease. Whilst mucositis may occur in virtually any segment of the gastrointestinal tract, it has been best documented and studied in its oral manifestation.
