Chapter 12 discusses late acute radiation tissue injuries observed in a smaller number of patients, and develop months to years following the radiotherapy (e.g. soft-tissue necrosis). One such late radiation tissue injury is post-radiation osteonecrosis (PRON), which is also known as osteoradionecrosis.
