Statistics play a vital role in the field of anesthesiology and medicine in general. Without statistics it is impossible to have valid and reliable data to be utilized for evidence based practice. Because of the need to understand and employ statistics, this chapter provides the reader with an overview of common statistical tests such as the T- test and Chi Square test. This chapter will also review their indications, as well as discuss how to practically apply the information obtained from these statistical tools. A review of technology and fundamental aspects of computer circuitry related to its practical application to the practice of anesthesiology is also included in this chapter.
