This chapter is an introduction to Integrative Pain Management which explains the increasing burden that pain creates in every corner of society and how we, as a nation, must view its larger web of influence if we have any hope of adequately meeting the needs of those with whom it is a daily reality. A clinicians, caretakers, and decision-makers gain greater appreciation of this expansive web, it will lead to an improved model of care for those living with chronic pain and stem the rising cost and disability that our nation.
