This chapter employs some of the targets that were discussed in the last chapter. It describes the management of two patients with severe acute pain. The first one has acute musculoskeletal pain, and the second, a combination of musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain. The chapter emphasizes the importance of regular analgesia, co-analgesia and non-pharmacological adjuncts.
