Imaging techniques play an indispensable role in the management of patients presenting with advanced heart failure. From underlying etiopathological mechanisms to the severity and nature of heart failure, imaging provides a plethora of information that is not only critical to decision-making but also has prognostic significance, guiding therapeutic decisions in these patients relating to medical therapy, surgery, and device therapy. This chapter details the use of echocardiography, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, and nuclear imaging with discussion of techniques, intercardiac pressures, and use in a range of cardiac conditions.
