In spite of improvements in diagnosis and treatment, heart failure remains a worldwide epidemic with the number of heart failure patients expected to double between now and 2030. This final chapter looks to the future, setting challenges believed to be essential elements of a research agenda for investigation focused on significantly reducing the worldwide burden of heart failure.
