This chapter suggests a generic strategic approach for the OSCE, and describes a practical application of this approach with worked examples and scenarios. This generic strategic approach is divided into five generic steps: the focal problem; casting a wider net; moving forward; forming an opinion; and getting everyone on board. This generic strategic approach is the starting point for a scaffold onto which the candidate can construct their own specific OSCE strategies within the different scenarios that they encounter and rehearse.
