This chapter continues to consider an array of generic OSCE themes that are useful in many different scenarios, and suggests some strategies and solutions in each of these basic areas. This chapter considers practical skills, and suggests some strategies and perspectives that may be useful to the OSCE candidate. These include: physical examinations; demonstrating practical skills; balancing empathy and pragmatism; containing procedural anxiety; and simulated composure and urgency.
