Chapter 3 discusses predicting future health by a healthy lifestyle, and introduces the ‘big five’, including non-smoking, vigorous daily exercise for at least 30 minutes, ideal weight, ideal diet, and modest alcohol. It addresses how, when taken together, these can indicate a perfect lifestyle, and that as a result there is about 80 % protection from heart attacks, stroke, or cancer.
