This is a personal account from a man who had been treating his HIV with natural therapies and his experience when he entered the hospital system not by his own choice. He discusses how jarring and terrifying the hospital experience was and how he felt like he had lost control over his treatment. Exacerbating his conflict is the mental impact of the disease, and the shame and denial that accompanied it. Eventually, the author is able to find a balance between alternative therapies, such as yoga and healthy eating, and the recommended medicinal treatments by AIDS and HIV specialists and he regains control over his life and his diagnosis.
