Chapter 44 hopes to educate child mental healthcare providers regarding the potential behavioral and health sequelae of in-utero exposure to psychotropic medications, as well as to the sequelae of exposure to maternal mental distress; and to enable clinicians treating mentally ill women of childbearing age to develop a more informed and rational approach to prescribing psychotropic medications to pregnant women.
