This chapter reviews the cardiovascular physiology of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in contrast with normal sleep, and summarizes the evidence of the association between OSA and acute cardiac events, including cardiac arrhythmias, myocardial infarction, and sudden cardiac death.
