With advanced imaging readily available in most places, neoplastic disease of the nervous system is more easily identified. Despite earlier detection, nervous system neoplasms remain a significant cause of neurologic morbidity and mortality. This chapter broadly reviews the clinical manifestations and general approach to diagnosis and management of nervous system tumors. Subsequent chapters review individual types of tumors, complications of therapy for tumors, and finally paraneoplastic diseases.
