This chapter describes in detail how the human energetic status is evaluated through inquiry, observation, and palpation, including unique techniques such as tongue and pulse diagnosis. Diagnostic algorithms evaluating imbalances of the human energy system help readers to apply these techniques and utilize all the theories discussed in the previous chapters to effectively formulate a diagnosis, which is the key to successful treatment. The chapter also discusses how the energetic evaluation should and can be an integral part of a medical diagnosis. It also discusses other unique observations for supporting diagnosis, such as body type, posture and movement, the smell of body fluid, and manifestations of the human spirit.
