Spiritual care is delivered through interprofessional collaboration. Teamwork and quality communication among team members are needed to ensure that interventions are patient-centered. In addition to using their communication skills to conduct spiritual assessments and deliver spiritual interventions, advanced practice registered nurses facilitate and lead team collaboration to provide spiritual care. This chapter focuses on the nurse’s role in teamwork supporting spiritual care. Core elements of spiritual care, determining best practices for documenting spiritual care plans, and team assessment of spiritual interventions are delineated.
