The chapter summarizes findings from a review of literature on the role of communication using complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) therapies and describes communication about CAM in the palliative care setting. The synthesis of research identified the role of communication between patients and CAM practitioner within the broader conceptual field of humanism. Communication about CAM and approaches for conversations about CAM are described for clinical interactions in palliative care.
