Tremor is the most common movement disorder. It is a rhythmic oscillation that can occur at rest or with action. It can be seen in isolation or in the setting of other movement disorders. The tremor video protocol focuses on features of the most common presentation of tremor (essential tremor). Tasks in the protocol illustrate postural sustention and various actions (spiral drawing and water pouring). Taping of more unusual tremors is addressed, such as orthostatic and palatal tremor. Although rest tremor is included in this protocol, since rest tremor is nearly always associated with parkinsonism, parkinsonism patients are best best filmed with other protocols.
