Problems of the hip, groin, and thigh are common, have a wide differential diagnosis and affect individuals of all ages and activity levels. Patients may present in a variety of clinical settings, and the rheumatologist must always consider that symptoms may relate to visceral and/or referred pain. Careful clinical assessment and appropriate investigations are vital to promote a good clinical outcome.
