Chapter 19 discusses the significant impact upon clinicians working with refugees and asylum seekers, and that some of these challenges are universal and independent of where clinicians may work with refugees—others are specific to certain settings. It would be foolish to state that exactly the same impacts occur regardless of whether a clinician is working in a North London clinic or in a border camp in Sudan, although this chapter will try to focus on the general themes that have emerged in the literature.
