The Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine 2019

October 8, 2019

The Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine 2019 was awarded to Sir Peter Ratcliffe, William Kaelin, and Gregg Semenza, who discovered how cells sense and adapt to oxygen levels. It is thought that their research could potentially lead to the development of treatments for anaemia and cancer.

Sir Peter Ratcliffe was a contributor to our title Oxford Desk Reference: Endocrinology, where he co-authored a chapter on Von Hippel-Lindau disease. In celebration of his achievements, you can read his chapter, for free, here.
