Cystic masses originating from the kidney include ureteropelvic junction (UPJ) obstruction, multicystic dysplastic kidney (MCDK), and multilocular cystic renal tumor. The finding of renal parenchyma around the cyst excludes MCDK. The continuity of the cyst with the dilated intrarenal collecting system indicates the diagnosis of obstruction. The absence of a dilated ureter localizes the obstruction to the UPJ....
