KUB (see opposite page) shows absence of the expected spleen shadow in the left upper quadrant.

Axial CT images show the low midline mass shaped like the spleen (arrow) with foci of decreased enhancement (arrowhead) with preservation of enhancement of the capsule. The whirl sign of twisted vessels of the splenic hilum is noted (curved arrow)....
