Chapter 8 briefly examines the relationship between use of alcohol and drugs and offending, including an overview of medico-legal issues, especially that of criminal responsibility, a review of the neuropsychological impact of substance use, and the practical issues in undertaking the neuropsychological assessment of substance users in criminal and civil cases, and in forensic clinical settings.
